TURKEY IN THE STRAW

Music: 'Turkey In The Straw' by Ralph's Records Band

Description: 32 count, Easy Partner Mixer, following circle line-of-dance format, adapted from
                     a clogging partner dance routine.
Styling: Partners assemble side-by-side in circle line-of-dance: inside partner facing line-of-dance
              (counter-clockwise) and outside partner facing reverse line-of-dance (clockwise).

SLAP KNEES (THIGHS) 2X, FACE TO FACE SLAP PARTNER’S HANDS 2X, STEP BRUSH 2X
1-2 Slap both knees (or thighs) twice
3-4 Turn in to face partner and raise hands to slap both partner’s hands twice; then immediately turn back to face your original position in line-of-dance
5-6 Step on left foot, and brush right foot forward
7-8 Step on right foot, and brush left foot forward

GALLOP ROCK STEPS TO THE LEFT, GALLOP ROCK STEPS TO THE RIGHT
9&10 Step left to left, rock right next to left, step left to left
&11&12 Rock right next to left, step left to left, rock right next to left, step left to left
13&14 Step right to right, rock left next to right, step right to right
&15&16 Rock left next to right, step right to right, rock left next to right, step right to right (Partners now meet together and immediately link right arms ready for the next section.)

RIGHT SHUFFLE FORWARD; STEP AND PIVOT 1/2 TURN RIGHT; LEFT & RIGHT SHUFFLE FORWARD
17&18 Polka (triple) step left, right, left going into the turn
19&20 Polka (triple) step right, left, right, continuing turning
21&22 Polka (triple) step left, right, left, continuing turning
23&24 Polka (triple) step right, left, right, ending up facing your original line-of-dance direction

ROCK FORWARD; ROCK BACK; COASTER STEP; JAZZ BOX TURNING 1/4 RIGHT
25-26 Step left foot forward, right foot forward
27-28 Step left foot forward, right foot forward, meeting new partner (say 'Hello')
29&30 Polka step left, right, left on the spot
31&32 Polka step right, left right on the spot
